Answer to 1 & 3: Maps are based on https://www.openstreetmap.org/ which means everything is based 100% on real life streets/locations (with few months outdated info etc, last ingame update was in march I think). The same map are used by some real life navigation software for example.
2. You can't change regions in the the same savegame but you can start another save.
4. All ines are placed by you, no lines are prebuilt in the game. The are suggested stop locations which again comes from real life info.
Can't answer you on 5-6 as I don't know the details of 5 and haven't reached far enough for 6.

As I see it, I also had such problems privately with a user and found that it was due to Auxi weather. He had entered the weather for his town and then selected winter weather with BBS.
It may be the same for you.
Yep, If you have AUXI weather option enabled and select Winter weather in BCS, the issue occurs.
If you select Real Weather with BCS and let AUXI override it, it's all good, talked with with AUXI author and he's got no clue why this happens only with the BCS Winter weather option.
But overall, I think it would be a neat to have full option to spawn without a bus with instructions on which bus has to be selected (as BCS penalties if the player chooses wrong bus) as we've seen this issue in the past also for other reasons - fact is OMSI is getting older and older with it's fair share of issues. -

In BCS, a bus is always selected from the terrain and loaded into OMSI as a savegame. However, you can still select the "Load map without buses" option on the OMSI start screen. Does this perhaps help?
Did not even think about that - might be an option if BCS does work with that.
The problem you are experiencing can perhaps be solved by looking in the log file. Have you ever looked there?
Thankly I did find the issue. There's some kind of conflict with BCS Winter weather mode and another addon I used.

Especially lately, I don't know why, but when I launch the game through BCS (multiplayer), my game ends up loading like this:
Even reinstalled the game completley (tried to mess with a lot of settings) - guess it's OMSI being the usual OMSI. However when I tested in singleplayer mode, I can load the exact time and same map if I just load the map and spawn the bus in later, then everythign is fine. I know in the past there have been strange periods like this also for me.
I would like to suggest an option to load the game without bus being pre-loaded and give instructions to the user the load the bus in manually to combat situations like this. -
Hey folks - I have an update on this issue. What I think is going on - the issue does not occur if you use lines map ships with, but if you use the lines from any of the linepacks (that BCS supports), the issue occurs. Maybe this can help in debugging the issue.

From all of the pictures, videos that have reached to me, I'm noticing most solo buses only have 2 doors and articulated 3 doors. Is there a plan to add more variations (3D solo and 4D articulated)?

Only if it's opt-in/opt-out (like the option to connect with other companies), not everybody and not all companies are part of BCS to be competitive. Some companies (like mine) are just here to enjoy the game with our group of people casually, if you start limiting it even more, it's a killjoy.
Frankly it's already hard enough to keep the company afloat if you have less active people. -
Howdy, first of all. This game looks like it will be interesting game to play, good work.
However, there is one thing in the trailer, that bugs me - the movement of the articulated bus in the depot. Is it only a thing in preproduction version, that the articulated bus drives like this or is that planned to have improved upon release? -
Please add space between depot 8 and depot 9 - frankly, it's quite annoying at the moment to access depot 9.

Now that BCS is implementing Premium model to fund it's development, something I would like to see BCS improve:
OMSI itself already works on Linux using Steam's Proton, but it's Bus Company Simulator that is not properly working. Frankly the future of Windows doesn't look the brightest atm. BCS and one more game are personally the only things that prevent me from using Linux.
When I tried last autumn, two main issues that occurred:
- BCS was unable to launch OMSI, BCS itself did launch (even the 3D depot)
- In BCS UI, some fonts did not render at all -
I would like to request that you'd remove the restriction that if OMSI has been closed, you can't do next trip with BCS without restarting the game.
Let's be honest, OMSI is unstable game and loads a long time - this limit is hit quite often and makes it bit annoying. -
Can we please order the map entrypoints list by alphabet (or at least by the order they are in game)? For example in Grande Porto 2021, which has a huge list, it's extremely hard in BCS to find the entrypoint because the order is random. Regular entrypoint selector in-game has logical order.

Alright, thanks for the detailed response. I'll try to debug over the weekend on my side also when I have some free time, I'll temporarely try removing the default repaints that use symbols in the name and see if anything changes.
So yes, our assumption seemed to be correct, If I packed and deleted following repaints that ship with the DLC:
correct repaint started loading. Adding them back, wrong repaint is loaded again.
I then did another test, renamed [W.S] to W.S only for CTI files (not folders nor repaint vaules themselves in the .cti file):and again correct repaint worked.
So it seems that if [ ] are used in the .cti file name itself, BCS breaks. Having these symbols in the repaint name and in folder name is fine. -
What do you mean you're unable to replicate this error. I gave you our repaint (from what AmyLucia said it's not only our repaint that has the same issue), if you actually would and try try to load that repaint in BCS (even with freeplay mode) you'd see it loads the wrong one.
At least 3 other people have confirmed this happening (everybody who have tried) so I highly doubt it's not happening to you, it sounds more like you haven't even attempted to test it (except opening the archive).
Don't get me wrong, I'm willing to help, when none of your staff members clearly can't reproduce it on your side, but sadly in the past with your team, you have kinda proven that you are forgetting this here is official support for a payed product and and the we are the customers.. Prove me wrong that you actually did try it (for example ingame picture of the bus with our repaint and where I can see the BCS overlay) and I'll gladly assist. -
Sorry, I didn't edit any files, I assumed BCS is going to fix not loading repaints properly if the repaints work in the game itself properly (even if the name uses special symbols). Pretty sure most folks won't go and start edititing repaints shipped by DLCs itself.
I usually don't edit DLC files as they are ovewritten by updated (especially newly released DLCs which will get fixes).
Additionally - chaning those file would break the map itself, every person would have to edit the map ai list by themselves due to repaint name change. -
Can it be [ ] symbols? Repaints shipped with the DLC itself include [W.S] in the repaint name, .cti file name and folder name.

First thing I have to ask - does the buses in BCS have the right repaint added to it?
Yes, as I said - I tried manually using the BCS Freeplay option also, selected GO Bus repaint, which showed up in the list and as you can see from the .cti file is corect and it spawned with the wrong one.
Does OMSI apply the repaint to the bus when you respawn the bus in OMSI via "ALT-menu"?

BCS (both singleplayer and multiplayer) fails to assign our company repaints ( [Adm: External link deleted] ). It spawns the bus with default repaint.
Repaint shows up in the list correctly: GO Bus and repaint works just fine without BCS (or even when I just respawn the bus manually ingame after BCS loads it incorrectly).
Both Yorkshire DLC buses have this issue. -
How is the company activity rating calculated? Does it somehow take into account drivers that have marked inactive by BCS - the update that was added a while ago to exclude inactive players from minimum, rating calculation so we don't need to kick people who are taking a break for OMSI, does something similar exists for activty rating calulcation, if it somehow takes into account hte amount of people in use.

It now happens almost every time. When my game crashes before I can actually start driving, when BCS reboots my game, it advances the game by several hours (always making the trip be too late). Notice the times on this screenshot:

It's old because that's how long I've been waiting for this to get solved (look at the first post date) The logfiles were copied right after I did a trip on ALU (the trip I showed on screenshots).
I can get newer ones but there is a high chance that won't happen before tomorrow. -

Yes, it does launch as admin (otherwise I would get the warning at start that I'm not launching as admin). Which log file I'm missing? I though I posted all of the logfiles on the first post. And it's only this map that is having issues, all other are fine.

Yes. Originally I didn't have ON installed at all, I only used BCS minimap, it has the same issue. Then I installed ON to see if it's only issue with BCS minimap but no, the issue appeared with ON also. I've also clean installed my windows (all drives wiped) to make sure it's not that.
