New: Local companies

BCS version 1.3 contains a new company type. From now on, you can also found a local company, so that small groups (like friends) can have an own company with a limited number of players. These companies are completely separated from the public companies, don't have any competition and are not listed publicly. In local companies, the concessions for maps have always the same price and are much lower than currently at public companies, because the local companies are especially for players who don't have much time to play but want to run a company anyway. So the users who don't like the competition system (e.g. the map concession prices), can change to a local company and then play relaxed amongst themselves.

Public companies are still meant for big companies, like virtual bus companies, who have many players.

Differences to local companies:

- One player hosts the Unreal server, the other players join his session

- Lower prices for map concessions, which are fix and don't change every month by demand

- Maximum of 16 players

- You don't need training to access the employee, finances and scheduling areas on the computer (but you still need the required rights)

- You can't send bonus payments to employees, because the expenses are much lower than in public companies and the money of the local companies should not go to the public companies

- Local companies mustn't to trainings for employees (same reason as above)

- Employees can't invite friends (the owners have to invite them)

- Local companies can't be connected with other companies

- Local companies can't compare their company with public companies and aren't in the ranking.

FAQ:

Is there always an owner who has to be online, so that the local company isn't offline?

No. Every employee can always start a new session. So you can always enter the local company. There can even be several sessions for one local company at the same time.

Where are the game progresses of the local company saved?

They are still saved in our central databse. Only the Unreal Engine Server is hosted by the player, so that the players can see eath other in the 3D company premise.

If I want to join a session, I get the error "No connection".

The host of a server has to make sure that his network and router is configured correctly. Therefore we have written a detailed article in our knowledge base:
